Analysing the Combat Fabber in patch v64758-balance

Combat Fabber changes

The change to combat fabbers from the current live build is that metal drains at 60 per second, energy at 2000 per second, and it costs 720 metal to build the unit:

The units vital statistics, as seen from the games Unit Database mod.

Tier 1 combat fabbers being more efficient than tier one fabbers (and even the commander) has some interesting side effects. Implications of the units raw stats:

What this means for one combat fabber assisting one factory

I've done some tests with a single combat fabber assisting the 4 main tier one factories, looking into how efficient it is to assist them.

Energy used assisted by 1 combat fabber relative to unassisted (to build the same units):

Air is the big winner here, because the air factory is relatively inefficient and the combat fabbers throughput contributes far more to the build than with other factories. All tier one factories are helped plenty, so sustained production should probably be done with the aid of a combat fabber regardless of the tier one factory type.

How much quicker you can build tier 1 units assisted compared to unassisted, taking into account roll-off time (estimated from tests). Anything over ~2x is quicker to build like this than just spamming factories unassisted (for the metal outlay of the infastructure):

Implications:

What this means for one combat fabber assisting two factories

You might assist two factories with one combat fabber, to mitigate the effect of roll-off time and maximise build efficiency. Below are tests for two factories (of the same type) assisted by one combat fabber.

Note:

How much quicker you can build tier 1 units with two factories assisted by one combat fabber, compared to one factory unassisted, taking into account roll-off time (estimated from tests). Anything over ~3x is quicker to build like this than just spamming factories unassisted (for the metal outlay of the infastructure):
